Permanent Exhibit Opening Weekend

From Coal to Community – All-New Exhibits

The Canmore Museum & Geoscience Centre is excited to offer all new permanent exhibits  “From Coal to Community“.

The exhibits present Canmore in a variety of perspectives: as an ancient way station for local First Nations, as an integral part of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Western expansion, as a 90-year historic coal-mining community, as an excellent venue to study and observe the history of the Earth, and as a modern and vibrant community that attracts people from all over the world. The exhibit has been in development for the past two years and is a celebration of Canmore’s unique history and geographical marvels.

(Opening weekend – Sat, March 5 and Sun, March 6 – gave our visitors a chance to see the exhibit at a reduced rate: $2 per person on those days, with the exception of children 12 and under, who are always admitted free of charge.  Museum staff and volunteers were on hand to guide visitors through the new exhibits.)

For more information, please e-mail or call 403-678-2462.
